Exchange:
When
in the Philippines always use authorised
money changers or banks. There is a shortage
of facilities for changing money outside
of the capital, Manila.. Also, the further
outside of Manila you go the progressively
worse the rates get.. Try to carry sufficient
amounts of Philippine pesos when travelling
to other provinces. Travellers can be exchanged
in all commercial banks and Central Bank
dealers. They are also accepted in the majority
of hotels, shops and restaurants. Visitors
are advised to take US Dollar travellers
cheques to avoid additional charges.
Credit
Cards:
MasterCard,
Visa, American Express and Diner's Club
are accepted in major establishments throughout
the big cities of the Philippines. Consult
your credit or debit card company for details
of acceptability and services that may be
available.
Banks:
The banking hours
in the Philippines are generally Monday
to Friday 9am-4pm.
