Exchange:
Foreign
currency and travellers cheques can be changed
at any bank, moneychanger and some of the
bigger hotels, Moneychangers generally give
the better rate of exchange.
Credit
Cards:
American
Express, Visa, MasterCard and Diners Club
are the most widely accepted credit cards
and can be used at major hotels, restaurants
and tourist shops; cash can be withdrawn
from inside banks. It is best to keep some
cash on you as Jordan is still largely a
cash based economy.
Banks:
The
banking hours in Jordan are Sat-Thurs 0830-1500.
During Ramadan the banking hours are 0830-1000,
although some banks open in the afternoon.
