Currency
Import/Export Restrictions:
The
import and export of local and foreign currencies
are free. However, you must declare amounts
over ILS80,000 or equivalent.

Exchange:
There
are small exchange bureaux found on main
streets and within some hotels and banks
that will exchange money for you. There
are also cash machines throughout Israel
that can be used to obtain local currency
using a debit card or credit card. However,
commission is very high if you exchange
money or travelers cheques anywhere within
Israel.
Credit
Cards:
All
major credit cards are accepted in Israel,
this includes VISA, Mastercard, American
Express and Diners Club.
Banks:
Each
bank has different hours of operation. However,
all banks are open Sunday - Friday 8:30
AM- 12:30 PM. Bring your passport and be
prepared to wait a long time.
