Import/Export Restrictions:
The
import of local currency is free, however
there is a limit of BD$500 for export. The
import of foreign currency is free, however,
there is a USD$1000 or equivalent limit
on export.

The
best currency exchange facilities are available
at banks There are currency exchange facilities
at major airports and some hotels but the
rates aren’t as good.
Credit
Cards:
The
most commonly accepted credit cards in Barbados
are American Express, Barclaycard, Carte
Blanche, Diners Club, Eurocard, MasterCard
and Visa, these are all accepted at the
major resorts, however cash is preferred
in most places (either the local currency
or the US Dollar). Check with your credit
or debit card company for details of merchant
acceptability and other services that may
be available.
Travellers
Cheques:
It
is advisable to take Travellers Cheques
in US Dollars so as to avoid additional
exchange rates.
