There
are currency exchange facilities at all
major airports and most hotels. It is easiest
to exchange US Dollars.
Credit
Cards:
In
Bahrain credit and debit cards usage is
growing with about 20% of the population
now opting to pay by plastic. There is still
a largely cash based economy and it is best
to only take credit cards for emergencies
and carry around mostly cash.
Banks:
Remember
that Friday is the day of rest so banks
do not open and most close early on Thursday.

Sat to Wed, then 15.30-17.30 (some banks);
07.30-11.00 Thurs.
